Counting And Rejecting Of Tablet Presses
Feb 16, 2022
The automatic tablet counting works using special sensors installed in the tablet press. A toothed counting disc is fixed on the outside of a pulley of the transmission part, and the number of teeth corresponds to the number of punches on the turntable of the tablet press. Below the teeth there is a fixed sensor that transmits electrical signals to the control system. In this way, the number of teeth rotated by the counting disc represents the number of punches pressed on the turntable, that is, the number of pressed tablets. According to the order of the teeth, the sequence number of the punch can be identified by the control system.
For the tablets of the same specification, the tablet weight, hardness and disintegration degree are manually adjusted to meet the requirements at the beginning of production, and then transferred to the computer control state. The tablet thickness is the same, and the tablet weight is identical. If the particles in the middle die are packed too loosely or too densely, it means that there is a difference in tablet weight, and the reaction force of the punching rod for tablet pressing also changes. A pressure strain gauge is installed on the upper arm of the upper pressing wheel to detect the reaction force of the punch during each tablet pressing and input it into the computer. The tablet pressed out by the reaction force of the punch within the upper and lower limits is a qualified product, and vice versa. Unqualified products and write down the serial number of the punch that pressed the tablet.
A waste rejector is installed at the film outlet of the turntable, and the waste rejector has a blowing hole for compressed air facing the film outlet channel, and the blowing hole is usually closed. When there is a waste piece, the computer outputs a signal to the blowing hole switch according to the sequence number of the punch that produces the waste piece, and the compressed air can remove the unqualified piece. At the same time, the computer also sends the signal output to the film mechanism, and after amplification, the electromagnetic device is energized, and the film baffle is quickly pulled together to block the qualified film passage, so that the waste films enter the waste film passage for collection.
